But building living tissue means following the “tissue rules” that govern how cells grow, organize, and function together. New tools like smart sensors and automated systems are helping researchers uncover and apply these rules, manufacturing therapeutic tissue faster and more precisely than ever. The result: personalized regenerative therapies that can be safely produced right where patients need them, turning a once-distant dream into a present-day reality.

Dartmouth Formula Racing Hybrid Car
Dartmouth Formula Racing is a student-run team at Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering that designs, builds and drives a custom racecar each year at SAE’s Formula Hybrid Electric Competition.
STEM-MoBILE at UNH Manchester
The STEM-MoBILE, or STEM Mobile Biofabrication Integrated Lab Experience, is a traveling laboratory that brings the science of biofabrication across New Hampshire.
Combining biology, engineering, manufacturing and automation, biofabrication seeks to produce biological substitutes and personalized living tissue as treatments for disease and traumatic injury.
